Why hire an SEO specialist in India through DigiWorks
Experience with overseas sites
Many Indian SEO specialists have run audits, migrations and content plans for English-language sites abroad, so your market and your customers are not new to them.
Room in the budget for steady work
SEO pay in India is far below US and UK levels, so a small business can afford one person working on its site every week instead of a short project once a year.
Clean link building only
We screen out candidates who rely on paid link packages or private blog networks. The people we shortlist earn links through outreach and content that others want to cite.
Results you can check yourself
Your specialist works in your own Search Console and analytics, so you see clicks, impressions and indexed pages directly, not only in a report they made.
One contract, prices shown apart
We hold the agreement and pay the specialist monthly in India. You see their pay and our fee as two lines on the quote.

Service Breakdown
Companies buy SEO from India in a few different ways. Here is what each one is good at, and where a dedicated specialist fits.
An in-house hire at home
Close to the team and easy to brief, but a local SEO salary is high and good candidates can take months to find.
An Indian SEO agency package
A fixed number of keywords and links each month. Simple to buy, yet you seldom choose who works on your account, and some link packages put the site at risk.
A freelancer from a marketplace
Handy for a one-off audit. Checking skill, paying in rupees and keeping the same person for the next job are all left to you.
A dedicated SEO specialist in India with DigiWorks
One specialist who works only on your site, inside your tools, week after week. We find and test candidates, you interview and pick, and we run the contract and pay.
When India is a good fit
Sites that need steady work on content, technical fixes and outreach, UK and European teams that like a shared morning, and US teams happy with written weekly updates.
When to look elsewhere
If you want your SEO person in long live calls during the US working day, a specialist in Latin America overlaps more. We can shortlist there too.

Ways to hire an SEO specialist
You can hire in-house, through a freelance platform, through an agency, or through DigiWorks. With DigiWorks, candidates are pre-vetted, you interview them and choose who to hire, and contracts and payments are handled for you.
Founder Story
Hi, We're Monica & Rolphy!
We founded DigiWorks after seeing how broken hiring and team building had become: slow, expensive, and limited by geography. Companies were either overpaying locally or struggling to manage remote talent effectively.
We built DigiWorks to fix that. By combining global talent access with structured systems for hiring, onboarding, and performance, we make it possible for companies to build high-performing teams anywhere in the world.
Most business owners waste enormous time and cash because they don’t know how to hire, manage, or scale remote teams, especially technical ones.
We believe this is a fundamental shift. The best companies won’t be defined by where they hire, but by how effectively they build and operate global teams, and DigiWorks sits at the centre of that change.

How to hire an SEO expert in India without the usual risks
Search for SEO help in India and you will find thousands of agencies, freelancers and job boards, with prices that range from a few dollars an hour to full in-house salaries. The talent is real: many Indian SEO specialists have spent years running audits, content plans and outreach for sites in the US, UK and Australia. The risk is also real, because the same market contains sellers of cheap links and promises of fast rankings. This guide explains what to pay, what to test and how to set up the work so it moves your traffic and leads. For the general role in any region, see our page to hire SEO specialists.
What SEO specialists in India earn
PayScale’s India data, last updated on 9 April 2026 and based on 148 salary profiles, puts the average base pay of an SEO specialist at about 3.5 lakh rupees a year, with most people between roughly 1.75 lakh and 7.7 lakh. The spread follows experience. Someone who writes meta tags and builds reports sits near the bottom; a specialist who can lead a site migration, read server logs and plan content for a whole topic sits near the top. Through DigiWorks you see the specialist’s pay and our fee as two separate numbers, so the cost is easy to compare with an agency retainer.
Agency, freelancer or a dedicated specialist
Indian SEO agencies usually sell packages: a number of keywords, a number of links, a monthly report. That suits a small site that wants activity without managing anyone, but you rarely control which person works on your account, and link packages can carry risk. Freelancers are flexible and good for a one-off audit. A dedicated specialist works only on your site, inside your tools, and builds knowledge of your pages and customers month after month. For a business where search brings in leads every week, that continuity matters more than any package size.
How to test real skill
- Ask for one result they can show in Google Search Console, with the dates and what they changed. Screenshots of a tool’s “visibility score” are not enough.
- Give them three of your pages and ask what they would change first and why. Good answers mention search intent, internal links and what already ranks, not only keyword density.
- Ask how they get links. Look for outreach, digital PR and content people want to cite. Paid link packages and private blog networks break Google’s spam policies.
- Ask them to explain a crawl report from a tool such as Screaming Frog in plain words.
- Check written English with a short task: a content brief for one of your topics.
Red flags to walk away from
- A promise of first place on Google by a set date. Google’s own advice is to be wary of anyone who promises that.
- Hundreds of links for a small monthly fee.
- No access to your Search Console or analytics, only their own reports.
- Changes made on your live site without a record of what changed.
Making the time zones work
India Standard Time is UTC+5:30 and has no daylight saving. A UK team shares most of its morning with a normal Indian working day, which is plenty for SEO, since most of the work happens without meetings. For US teams, a short call two or three times a week plus a written weekly update usually covers it. Decide the update format on day one: what changed, what moved in Search Console, and what comes next.
The first three months
In the first two weeks, give access to Search Console, analytics and the CMS, and ask for a short audit with a ranked list of fixes. In the first month, the specialist should fix the technical items that block crawling and indexing and write briefs for the pages closest to page one. By month three you should see the work in Search Console: more pages indexed, more searches where you appear, and pages moving up for the searches that bring leads. Rankings take time, so judge the first quarter on the quality and pace of the work as much as on traffic.
Common mistakes
- Choosing on the lowest monthly price.
- Measuring only keyword positions instead of clicks and enquiries.
- Giving the specialist no access to the website and expecting results.
- Running two SEO providers on one site with no single owner.
